To coincide with National Knitting Week we are launching The Knit Factor today to encourage people to get knitting and help raise awareness of RA and funds for NRAS's work.
Many people with RA find knitting a gentle way of keeping their hand joints moving and find it very therapeutic so we thought this might appeal to you!
Experienced knitters, beginners or even those who have never tried can get involved. We have a great How to Knit guide that you can download from the NRAS website and a pattern for baby bootees and a flyer explaining how the Knit Factor works. There are also links to useful websites such as the UK Handknitting Association.
Or if you know of any local knitting groups that might get involved let us know and we can send information to them.
The possibilities are endless... a scarf, a hat, gloves, winter woolies, tea cosy, knitted toys and dolls... what will you challenge yourself to do?!

Eeerrrr Jenni!!
My daughter had them a few years ago at nursery........and me Sad a few days after spending a lot of money at hair dressers on highlights. And they came back....

A few months ago a colleague taught me to knit, haven't tried for a while (just a long scarf for a barbie doll)!! Must ask her re casting orf...my jumbo sausage fingers let me down.

However, fantastic idea knit factor!

Lots of lovely knitted things currently being listed on the eBay shop at http://stores.ebay.co.uk/nrascharityshop so do have a look at the end of the day and see if you are tempted by anything! A huge thank you to all those who have knitted for us - we can't do it without you so keep knitting!
